[Letter addressed to the Secretary of the Spiritual Assembly]

It gives me great pleasure as Mayor of the city to extend New Year greetings on behalf of the people of this city to you and other members of the Bahá'i community in our city and region.

Derry City Council is committed to inclusiveness and embracing all communities in our city and is very supportive of the excellent work carried out locally by the Bahá'i community and the important role you play in society.

I believe we can all learn from the Bahá'i faith and the way in which you live your lives supporting peace and promoting a peaceful, integrated and inclusive society. The New Year is a very important and symbolic time for your faith and I would like to express my support and best wishes.

I would also like to pledge my support for the ongoing work you are doing to encourage a strong family life in our community and creating a better future for our young people.

Finally can I wish every member of the Bahá'i faith in the Londonderry/Derry area and beyond a very Happy Naw-Ruz.

Yours sincerely,
Councillor Kevin Campbell,
Mayor.
